Who remembers my first post of 2016? It went a little something like this…
During my time off over Christmas, I had the opportunity to attend many a holiday party and chat with many a woman and I was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of excuses people gave when talking about doing a boudoir shoot. So, I’ve decided that 2016 will be all about NO more excuses. Over the next month, I plan on putting all the excuses given under the microscope, dissecting them one by one and offering you a solid reason why you SHOULD, why EVERY women should do a boudoir session!
So let’s get right to it. Excuse #1, by far THEE biggest and most common excuse I hear ALL-THE-TIME. “I just need to lose (insert number here) pounds.” Clearly you have not read thru my info or seen my mantra, which goes a little something like this “Let us show you how beautiful you are right now, not 10lbs lighter or more toned, but you, right now.”
Number 1, you’re fantastic just the way you are, it’s true and we can prove it. Number 2, we’re only human, we have the best intentions but it can be hard to act on them. I’m not trying to discourage your weight loss or fitness goals, I fully support healthy improvements, but realistically, we’ve all been trying to lose that xx amount of pounds for years now. We have had many a mature client come through our studio doors who have told us just that, they kept putting off a shoot like this because they weren’t at their ideal weight and suddenly 20 years went by. We’re not saying that being a mature age and doing a boudoir shoot is a bad thing, (because those ladies can sure rock a shoot) we just think you could’ve had a few sessions in between and so do they 😉
Something similar I hear often that coincides with today’s excuse is: “I’m a curvier/curve less/older (insert your excuse adjective here) woman and I don’t see anyone like that on your website.” Then you’re not looking hard enough lol. We have had women of all shapes, sizes, ages & ethnicities come to see us for their boudoir experience. Check out our “Signature sessions” under “categories” and you will see voluminous types of women. Our diversity goes further that what you see on our blog as well, we just simply don’t have permission to show every client’s session, but maybe you could help add to that?
Here’s the thing, at Coco it’s our job to make you look your best and feel amazing in the process. We are professionals and are damn good at what we do. We know how to pose women to optimize their assets and minimize their insecurities. We do minor post process editing, something that varies with each client. Prior to booking a session with Coco, we discuss what you love about yourself, what you’re concerned about (and make you love it) and what edits (if any) you would like to have done. Things like minimizing cellulite, stretch marks, removing blemishes…in the end, the photos all still look just like you, just a more glammed up, with a new found confidence emanating from your pores you.
So, if this sounds like you, stop it! Excuse busted, now let us show you how beautiful you are, right now.
